All dressed Up and Nowhere To Go

Wednesday is usually my day for volunteering at the local Hospice.

I help out in the office with spreadsheets and databases etc, to keep my brain ticking over and to save the permanent staff some time to concentrate on more important tasks.

I look forward to having a reason to put on some makeup and wear a smart dress instead of slopping around the house barefaced and in comfy clothes.

This week, I had just finished carefully applying sufficient polyfilla and paint to make me feel more confident when the 'phone rang. It was my *boss* from the Hospice telling me that they didn't need me this week.  All that artistic work for nothing!

  1. When I look at your blog in Google Chrome, Firefox or Opera it does not work very well. There is a pane to the left hand side of your latest post (there are no others) in which My Followers is written vertically down the left hand side with your follower icons arranged in a vertical column below this. The pane scrolls left and right but not enough to see what looks like a lot of text on the right.

I can only see things properly in Edge or Internet Explorer when I see your latest post with a left-arrow at the top which when clicked gives a view in which all your posts appear in sequence. This view has links to Home About and Blogs I Follow across the top and a menu icon on the left. The Blogs I Follow link just says to click the menu icon. Clicking it opens a pane on the left with your followers and blogs you follow.

I've tried to describe what I see in the browsers I use most. I don't know whether others have these difficulties - I suspect they will. It's quite difficult to follow you in these browsers. Might get more followers if you can sort out the above issues.

    1. Thanks for that and sorry you have been having problems. As usual with all these browsers, it seems to work fine when the author looks at it but gets screwed up for others! I'll see if I can play around with the layout but I am not sure how to test it out because it looks OK on my laptop and my tablet. Perhaps I'll get someone to test it for me. Thanks for the feedback.

  4. I think it's important to get dressed up everyday! Even if I only go out to empty the bins...xx

PS. I can see why you've altered the blog layout by the first comment. It was difficult to find one's way around your blog but I managed it!

    1. I have three wardrobes full of clothes but only seem to wear one or two of my outfits day after day, unless I am going out somewhere. It seems a shame not to wear them all but there is nobody to see me, except P and he wouldn't even notice!

Although I am quite used to talking to myself, any comments on my posts are very welcome, provided they are not abusive. I do reply to them so please check back. It's good to talk (!)
