Just Back

I eventually made it back home last night after another long and tiring day of coach and air travel from Campania, via the UK.

Although exhausted, we all agreed that we had enjoyed our trip and the girls are already talking about where to go the next time!

I managed one blog post on the first day but after that I found it too difficult posting on my small 'phone. The eagle eyed amongst you have already spotted the duplicate photo.  So the rest of the trip will follow in instalments over the next day or so, if anyone is interested.

We had arrived late on Friday evening and after a hasty dinner went straight to bed. Saturday was spent strolling around the streets and investigating our options for sightseeing.

We had an early meal then went off to the nearby Villa Florentino to see the evening open air performance of Canta Napoli, a concert of popular Neapolitan operatic arias and extracts of poetry,  all delivered by a very talented soprano and tenor and the comical Pulcinella character, accompanied by a pianist, violinist and a mandolin player.  It was great fun and the tenor bore a remarkable resemblance to the Inspector Montalbano character from the TV series .

We had booked a tour for the following day, Sunday, with an early start so we toddled back to bed after the concert. Oh and a last glass of prosecco as a nightcap.

    1. We are planning on cramming in as much as we can before ours, too, are over.

  2. A last "glass" of prosecco? I thought you sophisticated Manx girls just necked it from the bottle.

    1. Not always. Just with our chips, cheese and gravy.

Although I am quite used to talking to myself, any comments on my posts are very welcome, provided they are not abusive. I do reply to them so please check back. It's good to talk (!)
