Basa

I recently bought some basa fish from  the supermarket as the price seemed very reasonable and the fish looked good.

However, P mentioned that this fish is from the Mekong Delta and has dubious health issues due to the pollution in the area and the fish farming methods used.

I cooked it tonight for our supper so am hoping I survive the night.

  1. I am sure one serving won't hurt you but I am with your husband. I also do not eat any tuna from the China Sea for the same reason and never have.

    1. I rather wish I had researched it before buying it.

  2. Rather than eating fish from Vietnam, why not take up beach fishing? You'd simply cast your hook into the Irish Sea a few times and you'd come home with a basket full of fresh fish. No carbon footprint issues or health concerns and the fish would be tastier too.

  4. I've been tempted to buy this fish a few time but haven't. I didn't know about the pollution where the fish comes from so I definitely won't be buying any now!
