A Girlie Day Out

A friend is 'home alone' this week as her OH is away so we arranged to meet up for coffee today and a browse around the shops. I enjoyed putting on some makeup and dressing up a little, something I don't usually bother with if I am staying at home.

I parked in the village close to where she lives and enjoyed a 15 minute walk to her house. It was a typical autumn morning. Sunny, crisp and breezy but still pleasantly warm-ish.

She drove us into town and we spent a very pleasant 3 hours having coffee and sharing a slice of banana and pecan loaf before strolling around the shops.

I tried to ignore all the Christmas merchandise that is already out on display- we haven't even had Halloween yet for goodness sake!

I am so glad to be going away next week and leaving the Christmas overkill behind for a few weeks.

  1. Is pelican loaf a delicacy on The Isle of Man? Poor bloody pelicans!

  2. Sounds like a fun day.

I don't really dress up, at home. But I do like simple, cotton long dresses. And I always comb my hair and put lipstick on. It makes me feel better. :-)

  5. Very autumnal here as well. Lots of work to do in the garden but it is so pleasant out it's not really a chore!

  6. I always feel so much better when I put my face on. It's a rare day I don't wear makeup...
