The Long Journey Home

We awoke this morning to a glorious view from our 7fh floor window at the Melbourne Airport Holiday Inn.

The sun was rising behind the Dandenong Hills and the city skyline was in silhouette.

At 5:30 a.m. it was too early to get up so I took these photos then went back to bed.

Our 7 hour flight from Melbourne has just arrived in Singapore and we have 2 hours until the onward flight to Copenhagen.

I am hoping that our friends make it back safely to Brisbane and manage to avoid the Bush fires. They are riding all the way up the east coast on their motorbike so we shall get home before they do.

  3. Thank you both. It has been difficult for me to respond to comments on my blog posts due to very patchy WiFi and the connection frequently dropping out. I hope to get back to normal when I reach home on Wednesday night!

  4. What a holiday it was! Such a wonderful place to visit.
At least you are coming home on one of the world's best airlines! My brother flew through Copenhagen from Perth when visited in the summer. Is Copenhagen the new Hub for the airlines?

    1. I agree that Singapore Air is the best airline we gave flown. Superb food and crew. We chose to fly from Copenhagen purely for financial reasons. We saved almost half of the cost for a flight from London. The UK Air Passenger Duty makes it much more expensive for long haul.

    1. It was a little cloudy up there. We didn't see much until the pilot thumped down onto the runway at Heathrow. I am feeling really tired now and glad that we booked an overnight stay here before flying home tomorrow.

  6. The Isle of Man is basking in golden sunshine. Manx cats are sunbathing on doorsteps and the bunting is out to welcome you home.
