I stumbled out of bed late this morning and drew back the curtains. I wish I hadn't.
The storm is having a high old time out there today.
Trees down blocking some of the roads around us. The ferry and flights cancelled. Standing water on the roads.
Elfie was trying to brighten up the place by lighting a candle. I had to tell him he is too young to play with matches.
Perhaps he's reminiscing about the good old days when people had no electricity, internet or television?
ReplyDeleteStorm Brendan is the name of our storm today. The next one is At Stephens day or Boxing Day in Blighty.
I've lost track of which storm is currently battering us, there are so many!
DeleteWhat's it all about, Elfie? (Surely someone must have already made that joke).
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on being the first! (That was the inspiration for his name. I keep singing it to myself 😉)
DeleteThe original was not a nice person.
DeleteNo, but this one is nicer.
DeleteWhen Mummy Elf told Naughty Elf not to play with matches, Naughty Elf took out his Zippo lighter, lit a fag and blew smoke in Mummy Elf's face.
ReplyDeleteThat's kids for you.
DeleteGood old Elfie. He's really got that festive spirit.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to miss him after Christmas!
DeleteThere has been some high winds today but luckily that is all. Elfie is very naughty - but very sweet!
ReplyDeleteVery stormy here. Hoping it will die down soon.
