A visit to the local shop for a bottle of fizz to go with our Christmas fish.
Everyone here is preparing for their big family feasts this evening followed by Mass.
We shall have a quiet evening drinking our wine and watching the sun set.
Elfie is all packed and is leaving us tonight to go back to Father Christmas. Bye Elfie!
I will miss Alfie. Happy Christmas.
ReplyDeleteMe too. Have a lovely Christmas x

DeleteI used to watch a programme about a girl who went to live in La Gomera with her boyfriend and little boy. She was desperately unhappy and he sailed yachts and used to leave her for weeks at a time while he went on commercial business delivering yachts in the W Indies. They were always short of money. I saw a lot of La Gomera through that programme and your photos today remind me of it. I often wonder if she is still there or whether she came home. She was from Stevenage. Thanks for all your posts. I have read them all. Happy Christmas. xxx
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen that programme. I shall have to look out for it. Thank you Rachel. Happy Christmas to you too xx
DeleteIt was on many, many years ago Jay Cee, maybe as many as 20. I do not get emotional about things very often but she used to cry a lot because she was on an island she didn't want to be and had followed her partner's dream but found herself left alone with her son a lot of the time for weeks on end and it was not her dream. He always appeared to be harsh on her and oblivious to her loneliness and it used to make me quite upset. I have never forgotten her. xxxx
DeleteYou will be sorry to leave this lovely paradise - and so will Elfie, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteWe shall certainly miss the warm sunshine when we return home!
DeleteEnjoy your Xmas day. Have the best of days on that sunny island. Bon voyage Elfie. ...till next year!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Enjoy your day too on your lovely island!
