Out To Lunch

Just returned from a Christmas lunch out with the girls I work with at Hospice.

I had baked cod with stir fry vegetables and a large glass of sparkling water.

Good food and a chance for us all to have a chat without the distraction of work.

The office manager gave each of us a small gift, which was a lovely thought.

That is it now for me at Hospice volunteering until January when we return from our Christmas break.  It should not be too busy there over the next week or so as many of the day care departments will be closing for the Christmas period.

Came home to find that Elfie had climbed up into the holly tree and got stuck. Silly Elf!

    1. I promised my niece that I would do it for her little girl, but it can be a challenge to come up with something every day until Christmas.

  3. The Isle of Man Fire Brigade had rescued dozens of distressed Manx cats from trees all over the island but this was the first time they had rescued an elf!

"What's he called?" asked The Chief Fire Officer.

"It's Naughty Elf!" said Daddy Elf who was dressed in his salmon pink lycra running suit.

    1. Well, that wasn't his running suit he was wearing, although it may have looked like a rather wrinkled pink all-in-one.

  4. How about him checking out the chimney (if you have one) to make sure the big guy in the red suit can get down.

  5. Naughty Elfie had been listening to the radio whilst you were out and heard:-
    The holly and the ivy,
When they are both full grown,
Of all trees that are in the wood,
    The holly bears the crown:

Someone had told him Ivy was all grown up now so he was trying to find the crown at the top of the holly bush which he was then going to give it to Ivy as a present.

But we all know it a 'long way to the top' especially when he's feeling the effects of all the brandy and tortilla chips he's been scoffing the last few days

    1. He's already wrapped his presents (poor Incey Wincey lost a couple of legs in the process) but he has some more adventures planned soon....
