Sunday 1st December

A beautiful sunny day, although we got up late following a late night on Saturday, celebrating the arrival of our friends' latest grandchild.

We decided to drive the five minutes into Peel to take a walk and to look at the new exhibition at the House of Mannanan, Peel's museum.

We parked at the far end of the promenade and walked around the bay and then across the swing bridge, to return along the quayside, past the marina to the museum.  A very pleasant stroll in the bright, but cold, sunshine.

The exhibition was a series of photographs from the Isle of Man press archives from the 1960s and 1970s.  Some really interesting snippets of Manx life.

Has anyone else ever heard of the PeelP50 car from the 1960s?

And finally, a pretty impressive sunset for a cold, frosty day.... and a Naughty Elf update...

Caught him ordering a takeaway pizza while we were out...

  1. A tripe dresser? Is that someone like Katie Price (aka Jordan)?

    As for Naughty Elf...

When Daddy Elf discovered that Naughty Elf had been ordering pizzas, he punished him by forcing him to read The Bible. Then Mummy Elf and Daddy Elf opened a bottle of wine and watched "Newsnight".

    2. I have seen Peregrine's underpants. Not a pretty sight.

  2. I hope Domino's do a frog and roots elves special? That's the staple diet for an elf. Oh elves originate from Germany. So you best leave him some Euros to pay the pizza delivery people.

    1. We've taken away his SIM card. He'll have to make do with fairy cakes.

  3. If it wasn't for the quality of the light one would think it was summer in your neck of the woods!

    Looks like an interesting exhibition...

    1. Thanks Vronni. it was a lovely day for it.
The exhibition was indeed very interesting. I am sure that some of our friends who have lived here all their lives will recognise a few of the faces in the photos.
