A Morning To Myself

My Lord and Master has gone up to Ramsey this morning to take an elderly relative shopping and do a few odd jobs for her.  She is well into her 90s now, quite frail but still lives on her own.  Usually a neighbour does her errands but he is away on holiday at the moment.

Anyway, it means that I get a few hours all to myself.

I have planned to tackle the pile of household bills that have accumulated in my filing tray, before they become overdue.  I don't often get the chance to use the laptop during the day as P is there playing Solitaire or browsing his favourie websites (mostly to do with running or WWII veterans).  Now that I am seated here at the desk in front of the laptop I am struggling to summon up the enthusiasm to do anything more than look at the current clothing sales.  I am a very shallow person.  I love clothes and shoes.

Time is ticking away and I shall soon have to shower and dress before P returns home for lunch.

It is cool, wet and blowing a gale outside.

Only 8 more days until the next holiday.

  2. You are not shallow, we all have things that make us happy and if yours is clothes then carry on I say.
Mine would be another ball of wool that I don't really need or some craft book that I may not ever use but these are the things that make me happy.

    1. We should all try to do what makes us happy. P just thinks that I spend too much doing so!

  3. He'll know what you've been looking at because he'll start to get ads for shoes and dresses. You need your own laptop.

  4. Your not a friend of Imelda Marcos are you?😊 She had 3000 pairs of shoes at the last count.

Why don't you invest in a tablet JayCee? It would be great for your flight and on holiday.

    1. I'm not far behind Imelda.
I did buy P a cheap laptop to use just for internet browsing and to play his games but he never uses it. He prefers to sit at MY desk and use MY laptop!

  5. Nothing shallow about liking clothes and shoes JayCee; it's another way to express your creative side! That's my excuse anyway...

  6. One of the advantages of living alone is that no one interferes with my workspace. As for being shallow. No! There's nothing wrong with making oneself happy by having nice clothes. I'm not, however, thinking about holidays or going anywhere. I shall stay put for the time being.

    1. Everything seems to be changing so quickly at the moment I am not certain we shall be able to get away. Oh well. If it all gets cancelled we shall probably be safer here anyway.

  7. "Lord and Master"? Is Peregrine living in the sixteenth century? Women are no longer the chattels of possessive men! However, he redeemed himself by kindly helping the elderly relative. At least he says that that is what he was doing!

    1. Well, the way he was dressed I am not sure any potential female admirer would have been impressed.
