P and I went out for a walk in the fresh air this morning. Just a gentle 40 minute stroll around the lanes where we thought we would not meet anyone else. Plenty of cars though, all zooming past so fast we very nearly ended up in the ditch.
Please join us here on our virtual walk... (excuse the blurry photos, there was a very stiff wind blowing and it was hard to keep the 'phone still)
First, we left the house and walked up the lane, pausing to admire the view of Peel Castle..
There was plenty of wild garlic, gorse, wild violets and primroses, and lots of ivy berries...
We decided to drop down onto the old railway track to avoid the cars...
We can just about see our house from here...
Back onto the road for the last stretch, then home for coffee and a biscuit.
The old and the "new" milestone markers...
We had a virtual dinner party with our friends last night. It was great fun, chatting and swapping photos of our meals via WhatsApp. We cheated and got a takeaway from the local Chinese restaurant.
Another three positive cases of the virus here now, although all mild and not needing hospital treatment.
What a beautiful green Island you live on. Wonderful view of fields and sea far away. Pity about those cars.
ReplyDeleteIt looks tranquil.
It was fairly quiet this morning, apart from those darned cars!
DeleteGreat photos JayCee. Love the old Isle Of Man milestone markers.
ReplyDeleteThanks northsider. The old one is so worn you can no longer read the inscription on it. It is still lovely though and I am glad they kept it.
DeleteSo totally different from where I live, it is wonderful to see! Love the beautiful views! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ellen. It is totally different to where I grew up too. Just makes me appreciate it more.
DeleteWe've just been out for a walk this afternoon straight from the house. Like you, so lucky to live surrounded by lovely countryside.
ReplyDeleteWe took several deep, deep breaths along the way!
DeleteIt does look lovely, where you are! The milestone markers were brilliant. What a good idea a virtual dinner party!
