Cheering Up

P has gone off this morning on an expedition to Douglas to see if he can find the things in Tesco that we can't get locally. He is braver than I am.

This morning is bright and sunny.  The birds are all singing and the Spring flowers are bursting forth.

I just took these few photos of the pots outside our door .

They make me feel cheerful.

  1. Do the Wordsworth family live at your house? Love the Daffodils and the other flowerpots.

    1. Ah, but you must have other Spring flowers to brighten the day? I remember we saw some lovely, colourful blooms when we were in Nafplio last April.

    1. He managed to get some of it at least. The cashier on the checkout said his was the the smallest trolley load he has seen for a while!

  6. I went into town too. Never known it be so easy to find a parking place.

  7. When Peregrine returns from Douglas you should instruct him to strip off by the back door before you hose him down to prevent infection.

    1. He had a quick spray of Vicks First Defence before he left and I asked him to wash his hands after he had unloaded the bags (all two of them). His idea of washing his hands is to grab the hand towel (with contaminated hands) and fling it over his shoulder then a tiny squirt of liquid soap and a very brief rinse under the tap (MUCH less than the recommended 20 seconds), shake the water off all over the place then dry on the contaminated hand towel. Simples.

    2. You should report him to The Bureau of Hand Washing's Enforcement Department for urgent re-education. Bad Peregrine!
P.S. Did he get the gin?

  8. Isn't it lovely to have plants near the house. I love to open our kitchen door and there are all my pots on the patio, lifts my heart. Hope P had a successful shop.

    1. Lots more buds ready to open today now that we have had a burst of sunshine, although a frost is forecast for tonight.
The shopping was not totally successful but I don't think we shall starve.
