Sorry to bore you by being yet another poster about the bloody bug but we now have our first confirmed case here on the island, despite this week's preventative measures.
It seems a resident returned home from Spain on Sunday and was already infected before he arrived.
Another man was arrested yesterday for ignoring the quarantine regulations.
Just have to see how long it takes for it to spread through our relatively small community.
Oh boy. Too close for comfort. Wonder how many people he came into contact before isolation. Hope you too keep well.
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda. Our ministers will be announcing further measures later today so we are not sure if we are all going to be in lockdown (God I hate that word). I forsee another panic surge in the shops today.
DeleteIs a lynching planned? You will need burning torches when you surround his house.
ReplyDeleteYou may joke Mr P but some of the comments going around social media today are getting quite close to that!
DeleteWe are in unknown territory now.
DeleteYes I can't help feeling that Yorkshire Pud is right - unknown territory indeed. A present everyone here is being so kind and helping those of us self isolating because of age - but when the chips are really down what will happen? One can only hope people will continue to be kind and helpful.
ReplyDeleteIf, as predicted, this lasts for the rest of the year one wonders how the mood may change.
DeleteI just read about the guy who was arrested ! We are pretty much isolating ourselves .... I did pop out for petrol and everything seemed to be going on as normal which , perhaps isn’t the best thing !
ReplyDeleteTake care and keep washing those hands 🤣 XXXX
Thanks Jacqueline. My hands are so clean the skin is turning red! Can't say the same for the other half - he seems to think washing hands is for sissies!
DeleteAmputation may be the only solution for Lord Peregrine.
DeleteYes, I think from the neck up....
DeleteNo TT Races either. Will have to play George Formby instead singing
ReplyDelete: " Riding In The TT Races"😀.
He was brilliant wasn't he! We shall have to watch No Limits again if we can find it on YouTube.
DeleteComic genius.
ReplyDeleteThat will be an interesting project to follow the spread from one source in a small island. Stay safe. Hope you find pasta.
