Let's Pretend

Today was meant to be the day that I was to travel with my sister, my niece and her two small children for a girlie get-together at CenterParcs.

We haven't seen each other for quite a while and were all looking forward to spending time together.

My niece sent me a copy of this online post by someone else whose break has also had to be cancelled.  It made me laugh.......

'So disappointed that our Easter break at CenterParcs has been cancelled, however, I am getting the kids to ride around the garden on their bikes while I burn £20 notes'......

  1. Very funny - at least it started my day with a laugh.

  2. Isn't CenterParcs like a modern day prisoner of war camp? Or Butlins for the middle classes? And how come they cannot spell either "Centre" or "Parks" correctly? Still, it is a shame that a nice plan to get together with your family has been scuppered...maybe next year?

    1. I agree about the spelling. Makes me shudder. However, it was the most practical option when you have two small, very active children to entertain.

  3. It's the famous five holiday park in the forest. Timmy the dog must be kept on a leash at all times. No dropping aitches. By order of the management.

    1. We would have carried a little plastic bag to pick up our aitches, northsider.

    2. Sounds like you have been Northsider! It is surprising that they let you in. Did you have to do an entrance exam?

Oh me name it is Northsider
      Me belly's getting wider
A kebab went down me gullet
      Followed by a mullet
      A kind of slippery fish
Served up on a silver dish

    2. Oh me name it is JayCee
I'm as happy as can be
      With Peregrine by my side
I'm like a newly wedded bride
Oh he chases me round the garden
And pursues me down the lane
When the neighbours hear us laughing
      They presume we are insane.
