Where In The World?

We regularly keep in touch with our friends Tom and Jayne in Australia via Facebook. They are both keen travellers and have tried to see as much of the world as possible since retiring a few years ago.

This week Tom has nominated me to take the Facebook 10 Day Travel Challenge.
With not much else to do at the moment I thought I may as well have a go.

Every day I have to select an image from my travel pictures that I love and post it without an explanation. My family and friends then guess where it is taken.

As I don't have anything interesting to post today (what's new? I hear you cry), I thought I would share with you my first 5 photos.

Some will be easy to guess...

How many marks did I get miss?

    1. Two of them spot on and one very close.
Good guesses for the others as well.

    3. I can't believe it! We have a painting of El Capotolio in our house. It hangs next to the downstairs bathroom. Our daughter brought it back from Cuba. Give me a piece of jagged glass so I can slash my wrists!

    4. Oh dear. Perhaps you should use the downstairs loo more often YP!

  2. Agree with YP about Washington DC and Rome - the others are a mystery apart fromthinking that 4 is in the Far East somewhere.

    1. Hong Kong and Rome are correct. Number two is a little sneaky perhaps as this building was modelled on the US's White House. YP's guess for number 3 was very close indeed.

    1. I'm not sure how things will be, even by this time next year. We had booked a holiday for Christmas before all this but I don't know if we shall still go or cancel it now.

  4. No idea on any of them. You've done a lot of travelling

  6. OK then. To put YP out of his misery...
    1. Lake Tahoe in Nevada
    2. El Capitolio in Havana. That photo was taken from our hotel room window around 12 years ago.
    3. Crinan Canal, Scotland, taken when we visited nearby Achnacarry where my father in law did his commando training during WWII.
4 and 5 were correctly guessed as Hong Kong and Rome.

I will post another 5 tomorrow if you can stand it.
