Blowing In The Wind

Gale force winds here today and forecast to continue into tomorrow.

The ferry is cancelled so no food deliveries to the supermarkets.

This very short little video was taken just now from my sofa. You can see a few leaves that have been ripped from the trees and are swirling around outside the door.  A couple of the garden chairs have been blown over, but no point in picking them up yet. They will just end up on the floor again.

Back to my sewing then

  1. The video looks like a TV commercial for Everest double-glazing... "Fit the best. Fit Everest!" said Ted Moult. Remember him?

    1. I do - and they used to have a helicopter landing on the lawn to demonstrate the wonders of the double glazing.
Actually, those are Everest windows funnily enough. Installed by the house's previous owners many years ago, and still working fine.

    2. I believe they are on the brink of collapse (the firm that is, not your windows) (hopefully).

    3. Oh shame. They have been around for decades, as have our windows.
They were good quality too, unlike some that are on the market these days.

    4. Everest should use you as the face of their advertising JayCee - then sales would surely rocket! Donning a leopard print bikini would help.

  2. Same here but still very warm. It’s calmed down a bit now. How was the crab risotto ? If I had to say what my favourite food was it would be crab or turbot or maybe turbot stuffed with crab 🤣😂🤣 XXXX

    1. Thanks Jacqueline. The risotto was lovely but then crab is one of my favourites 😁. You can't have too much of a good thing!

  3. Snap with the weather. Wouldn't like to have been in a tent or caravan last night.

  4. Just the same here in the Dales - incredibly windy - just as my iris is finally coming out it is blown over.

    1. Oh no! What a shame, after waiting so expectantly for it to open.

  5. Nice to be inside taking a video of it all. Hope those fallen chairs are the only casualities.
Our heatwave is over and it is a deliciously cool 25o

    1. Lots of fallen leaves and plant debris to clear up tomorrow, unless it has all been blown across to Merseyside in the meantime!

  6. It's hit us this afternoon. Not too bad by out standards but not good for the garden at this stage.

  7. I notice that one of my climbing roses has a bough broken with lots of buds just ready to bloom, so annoying. We seem to have had more than our share of winds this year so far.

    1. Oh bother. Just when they were getting ready to bloom.
