  1. I still have a fortnight to wait for my first hair appointment - had to wash it myself this morning.

    1. I find it easy enough to wash mine whilst standing up in the shower but it was getting too long and very straggly. I feel so much lighter now.

  2. While I was away for 7 months my hair grew like crazy. I usually have it cut very short, layered, but it was down to my shoulders, sweating my neck since it is thick and curly and our temps are in the 90s and extremely humid. I shocked my husband by handing him the scissors and told him to cut the length by about 2 inches. His eyes lit up and he not only trimmed off about 3 inches but snipped here and there. I was very nervous about the outcome, lol. It actually looks a lot better and I may? let him trim it again!!💖

    1. I hadn't realised how much my hairdresser had cut off until she said "Look at all your hair on the floor!"
She tried a new style too and I love it.

  5. I have long hair and grew it to have it long and silky, lol
Didn't think about it enough as at 74 it just will not go silky any more.
Therefore its always up in a bun.
The joys of old age. lol

    1. I had long, waist-length hair until I reached 40 then decided I ought to have it chopped off. When the hairdresser at that time showed me the long ponytail she had lopped off, most of it was split-ends!

  6. I had my hair cut a few days ago. I had about as much hair as you had on the floor. So much easier now to wash. It dries naturally and no sweaty ends around my neck. So much better

  7. I have received a petition from "Diary of a Nobody" visitors urging you to show us a picture of your new self - minus the old hair. Nice to see that summer has returned to Peregrine Island.

  8. Lucky you on both counts. Our hairdressers are opening this week but it will probably be some time until I can get an appointment.

    1. It is good not to have to wear a ponytail every day now.

  9. Nice cut! When I got my first post-lockdown haircut (almost a pixie cut) there was more than enough hair in the sweep-up to form a silver toy poodle. And, as you and other have said, no faffing required. A relief.

    1. Definitely a relief to get rid of it all. So much easier now.

  10. For someone who hasn't got much hair I'm astonished just how long and unruly what I do have has become.

  11. It sounds as if you got the hair cut at the right time before the heat set in. Mine gets all sweaty at the back now as is it's much longer at the back now...
