So Much Blood

… for such a little cut.

I was sewing this morning and accidentally snipped off a chunk of my fingertip with my nice, sharp sewing scissors.

I ran to the bathroom and held my finger under the cold running water whilst trying to open the pack of plasters from the cabinet with my other hand.  A tricky manoeuvre to say the least.

I managed to unwrap two of them and wound them tightly around the cut, which I think has now stopped bleeding.

Luckily the fabric I was working on is red, so any blood stains won't show.

It is throbbing like blazes now.  No more sewing for a day or so.

  1. Where was Lord Peregrine when this terrible tragedy occurred? No doubt out hunting with the hounds again.

    1. I shall remove the plasters tomorrow and take a peek, but I am very squeamish about blood and wounds.

  5. Oh I can imagine that throbbing pain. Putting those plasters on as tight as possible was the best thing to stop the bleeding. Very acrobatic though with one hand .
    Hope it heals quickly

    1. Not as much as I did when I saw what I had just done with the scissors. I am such a wimp.

    2. Don't let it get infected. Lots of disinfectant.

    3. That's true. I am surprised I have any fingertips left. Over the years I have sliced through one thumbtip with the lid of a corned beef tin, and a fingertip with a knife when chopping food.

  8. The worst part is hat you can't sew for a bit, I hate it when that happens but at least your scissors are sharp, mine wouldn't cut butter I need some new one's.

  9. I hate it when that happens. Sometimes I accidentally prick my finger with a needle. And it blimmin hurts for days.

  10. Extremities always bleed a lot! Well done on putting on a plaster with one hand; I think a medal is in order!
