Clint Eastwood And My Dad

Yesterday northsider blogged here  about Spaghetti Westerns and mentioned Clint Eastwood.

As a kid, I liked to watch his films as I always thought he looked like my dad..my hero.

Well, close enough...

  2. There's certainly a likeness, your Dad was a looker as we would have said in 'the old days' lol
I remarked to Tom that it must be hard for actors to come to terms with getting old. It's hard enough when we look back at photos but to see yourself on screen and then look in the mirror when you are an actor must be devastating, especially in Clint's case, lol

    1. Thanks Briony. I always thought he was a handsome chap, but then I was probably biased.
Yes, it must be a burden to be exceptionally good looking in your youth only to watch your looks fade with age. Luckily I never had that problem! x

  7. I used to see his westerns at the cinema and come out thinking I was Clint Eastwood. Even wondered whether I should buy some cheroots.

  8. Though the picture is a little blurry, I can see that your dad was indeed a handsome chap. No wonder he spawned such a pretty daughter. Shame about the other one.

    1. Sorry about the photo, it is very old and has faded quite a lot. Like some of us!

  9. People said my dad looked like Rolf Harris. He did. I wrote a haiku about it:

    People used to say
My dad looked like Rolf Harris.
    They don't anymore.

  11. A very good friend of mine had a very handsome father, and all her female friends (and maybe male friends too) used to fancy him like crazy. It used to really annoy her.

    1. I was never aware of anything like that at the time, although I think my mum's sister had her eye on him!
