The Hair Ghost

John from Going Gently recently posted about a ghost.. here...

This reminded me about an incident that happened to me just last week.  I was in the kitchen filling the kettle to make tea and thought that I saw a slim figure dressed in white moving from left to right behind my right shoulder and disappearing into the hallway.

I went into the room where I had last seen P and found him at his computer. I asked him if he had just been into the kitchen and he said no, that he had been seated at the computer for the past half an hour and not moved.

How strange.

A little later as I was rinsing out the cups the same thing happened. I couldn't see anyone there but suddenly I realised what it was.  Out of the corner of my eye I noticed a very thick coarse white hair sticking out beside my cheek and just in my peripheral vision. As I turned my head to my right it appeared as though there was a white shadow moving behind me.

Mystery solved. It was the Hair Ghost!

  2. That's brilliant. I am a believer in ghosts and seen a couple of them. I also think there is a logical explanation to some scary happenings. Thanks for making me laugh JayCee.

  3. Delightful - now I know what makes the Tigger have those funny five minutes from time to time (seeing spooks) - it's those coarse white whiskers sticking out the sides of his face.

  4. The Hair Ghost is probably related to The Mucky Window Ghost and The Sun Reflected Off A Shiny Car Ghost. Sadly, these are the only ghosts we will ever see unless our spouses put sheets over their heads and tiptoe around the house going "Woooooo!" I guess Lord Peregrine does that all the time.

  5. Yes, and there is always the Reflection In My Glasses ghost or the Eye Floaters ghost! The older I get the more weird things are taking over vision! But I have a good life so I don't mind too much. Thanks for the smile this morning, JayCee!

  7. You reminded me of an occasion when I was a child. Light bowls were fashionable and we had one in the dining room over the electric light in the centre of the room One evening when my aunt was staying with us a ghostly hooded figure walked round and round the room as a shadow on the wall. It took them a long time to realise it was a fly walking round the inside of the light bowl.

  9. Our TV turns itself on by itself; it's obviously either a ghost, or some dodgy wiring.

  10. Oooo, you got me there. I was preparing a comment in my mind about scary spectres . Lucky I read till the end before writing it down.
We have weird things happening but I don't want to see any shadows, white or black.
Maybe it could be a selling point for you though!

  11. My ghostly visions come from ocular migraines (fortunately without the headache) which causes bizarre, kaleidoscopic zigzag patterns to move across my vision for up to 30 minutes at a time. Luckily, usually happens at home. Only happened once when driving. Would not care to repeat the experience.

  12. Too funny! At least you figured it out...otherwise you would have had one of those reality ghost hunters trying to make a television program out of you!
