Hang out all the bunting!
Come and take a chair
Daddy's gone a-hunting
He's gone to fight the Bear.
The Bear is quite invisible
He can't be seen at all
He seems to be invincible
It's been a long old haul...
But Daddy's got the vax, Dear
He'll jab it in your arm
So there's no need to fear, Dear
We'll all be safe from harm.
My sincere apologies for the truly excruciating doggerel but I wanted to do something to cheer myself up on a day when our island has had the highest spike in cases since the pandemic began last year.
The vaccine rollout here is supposed to be ramped up now as we are getting 10,000 additional doses from the UK this month. Yippee!
My sleeve is rolled up and I am ready and waiting.
My sleeve is rolled up and I'm ready and waiting.
ReplyDeleteBut today Dave Northsider's vaccinating
He thinks that the process is all very funny
And he's only doing it for the money.
That's even worse than mine YP.
DeleteThought of trying to keep up the doggerel in my reply - but my brain is just not in poetry mode this moring - so just to say hope you get it soon.
ReplyDeleteA few more weeks to go.
DeleteI'm sorry you are now experiencing a spike and consequent lockdown. I've friends on the Island that I've been unable to visit for a year now, sadly including attending a funeral. It is such a beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteHope you get all the vaccine needed quickly. It would be nice to think I could get over in the Summer. I miss my visits but more I miss my friends there.
I think this summer is a little optimistic Jacquie. Perhaps the autumn?
DeleteJayCee means healer and God of salvation.
ReplyDeleteSoon she and P will get the vaccination.
Tell it to the Manx nation.
You're all getting the vaccination.
Arise, Poet Laureate Sir Northsider.
DeleteIt is frustrating to wait. It has been so long and we are so close now...
ReplyDeleteHope your island cases go down and you get your jab soon.
Stay safe, JayCee!
Thanks Ellen. Our cases are rising very quickly day by day. Quite alarming now. Payback time for our recent freedom.
DeleteDearest JC,
ReplyDeleteQue sera, sera
For you, Astra Zeneca,
Sputnik V for we, maybe,
Que sera, sera!
Very good!
DeleteHope it happens soon. We just hear today that everyone on the island over 60 can now get an appointment. My name is down and I'm waiting too
ReplyDeleteOh that sounds good, Linda. I think our over 60s will be some time next month, so I have a few weeks yet.
DeleteI'll be rolling up my sleeve also, and popping a cork when I've had both shots! (Might be sooner on popping the cork . . . )
ReplyDeleteSame here Bob!
DeleteI enjoyed that! Not so lucky here yet; I suspect it'll be a while.
ReplyDeleteWorth waiting for though, Cro.
DeleteI enjoyed your doggerel - excruciating or not a million times better than anything I could produce. Like you, we are experiencing a plethora of cases having been one of the safest areas in the UK since the start of the pandemic. Fortunately we are also the top place in Scotland for rolling out the vaccine.
ReplyDeleteOurs started from a ferry worker. How did yours start Graham?
DeleteOurs has had multiple starts since Christmas apparently. Mostly from people visiting the mainland which, except for specified purposes, is illegal. However many have ignored the ban. Consequently we are paying the price.
DeleteI am lucky that I had my jab 6 weeks ago today...another 6 weeks til the 2nd one! Life hasn't changed a bit, but I feel happier that if I did come into contact with it I wouldn't get too ill hopefully !
ReplyDeleteThat is the best we can all hope for Frances x
DeleteHere's mine!
ReplyDeleteSome people are getting the jag
For the rest of us there seems to be a lag
We're ready and waiting
Sleeves rolled up and hating
That we don't already have this in the bag!
I am stalking my postman for the blue envelope! Soon, I hope! x
You must be very young to still be waiting!!!
DeleteHope you get it soon, JayCee!
