Goodbye Garden

Today has been a rare day of sunshine, albeit with a very cool breeze.

We are due to collect the keys to our rental bungalow on Tuesday but the landlord kindly offered to let us in today so that we could store some of our boxes of stuff before the removal date.  Just one carful as we didn't want to do the half hour trip each way more than once, but it was surprising how much we managed to clear.  Lots more space now for me to carry on with emptying cupboards and filling boxes ready for next week.

The weather forecast for the next few days is pretty much wall to wall wind and heavy rain so I took one last tour around the garden before we leave it for good.

Although I shall miss our garden, I am looking forward to starting a whole new chapter in our lives next week.

Tally-ho!

  1. Super garden photos JayCee. You must feel sad leaving your beautiful house and garden? Onwards and upwards and time to make new plans. Maybe a garden office or a holiday in the sun soon?

  2. Beautiful garden, but I can imagine taking care of it was almost a full time job. Best of luck with the rest of packing and the move next week. Hope the weather isn't as dire as predicted.

    1. Thanks Mary. Yes, the garden maintenance was one of the reasons we decided to downsize. We are hoping we can take it easy from now on 😉

  4. Your garden is beautiful, I'd find it very hard to leave my garden. I'm sure you'll find a new one to knock into shape, it will be fun starting with a blank canvas again. Good luck. x

    1. Once we had made the decision it became much easier to contemplate leaving. Time to start again.

  6. Indeed you had a lovely garden JayCee (Past Tense). Is your rental property near Peel or in another parish?

    1. It is in Ramsey, in the North East of the island, about half an hour's drive from here and another world!

  9. What a beautiful garden, but it does look like a lot of work. My garden is mostly mowed lawns and fruit trees, and will probably require drastic work when we come back again next year.

    2. Your garden is beautiful as I’m sure your home is but, whenever we have moved, as much as I’ve loved the houses we have lived in , I was never sad to leave them as I was so excited by the new one. Wishing you both many happy times in your new home, rented or otherwise ! XXXX
