I have been waking very early this past week. Probably due to the early sunrise and the fact that I have been sleeping soundly since we moved in and the old house sale has completed.
This morning we walked into town....again. I am still finding it a novelty to be able to easily walk to all the local amenities within 5 to 10 minutes.
We visited the library to sign the forms to join, then walked across the harbour bridge to the park for coffee by the lake.
A detour on the way back to get a replacement battery fitted in my watch and then we found that we were just in time to see the Manx Electric Railway cars arrive at the station and prepare to turn around for the return trip.
We must do that next, but perhaps after the half term holiday.
It's a good year for the Rhododendrons. Why didn't Elvie Costello write that one?😊 Smashing photos JayCee.ReplyDelete
Thanks Dave. The rhododendrons are just past their best now but still stunning.Delete
F's hometown Dunedin in NZ has a beautiful rhododendron collection in their Botanic gardens - perhaps your climates are similar to theirs. Sounds like you are on holiday every day now. Enjoy it.ReplyDelete
Thanks Tigger. It does feel like an extended holiday for now.Delete
Glad you are settling in so quickly and it is all over.ReplyDelete
I do feel so much more relaxed now.Delete
I like trams.ReplyDelete
I think most small boys do.Delete
How lovely! Are those the regular trains to commute on or are they more of a tourist ride? They remind me of the old trolleys that used to be in the city many years ago.ReplyDelete
Just a tourist attraction Ellen. They are too slow and uncomfortable for regular commuting.Delete
Lovely photos. You've got a lot of 'new' places to visit. Great to be so close to so much. A real novelty, as you said, for a while at leastReplyDelete
I am enjoying it while it lasts.Delete
I doubt that you will be allowed to turn the electric rail cars around without proper training. Good to hear you are sleeping well now that the house stress has subsided.ReplyDelete
Tram ride (post half-term) is definitely the right idea.ReplyDelete
Good to hear that you are finally able to sleep better and now have new places to explore...almost right outside your door.
Thanks Mary. Just need the good weather to last.Delete
I'm so glad you're able to walk into town within 5 minutes; I can too and I love it still after almost 30 years!ReplyDelete
