Sunday's Views

Sorry folks but here are more photos,  this time from my walk this morning.

I wanted to take a look at the other side of town to see if there are any locations that would suit us.

An hour and a half,  finishing with a good flat section along the promenade.

I couldn't resist photographing a couple of interesting buildings side by side on the prom...

  2. Oooh. I just watched a video. Has it been fixed up or are they still tangled up in court?

    1. The saga is still dragging on I believe. I just can't imagine how much it would cost to renovate that place now!

  3. Bleak House does indeed look bleak. I believe that Charles Dickens wrote a novel about it.

  4. Bleak House in name and appearance. But it's a beautiful old house. Needs big bucks I guess.
Oh I do love good flat sections. Particularly with a cafe at the end of them

  5. Did you spot any possible locations for your next home? Looks like a busy city!

    1. It is a very small town but a working town so lots going on. I saw a few locations I like but P says they are too far to walk to buy a newspaper and a pint of milk!

  6. It looks like the sort of small town I could live. Excellent to have a few things like a small shop or two within walking distance.

    1. Oh yes Rachel, that is exactly what we were looking for when we decided to move. Just hoping we can now find a place to buy that is as convenient.

  7. 'Bleak House' looks fun. A total mess other than the two perfectly gilded balls at the entrance. Someone has a sense of humour!

  8. If that gets demolished it will make a hole in the style and appearance of the neighbourhood. It is a shame that property is allowed to deteriorate to such an extent. We are surrounded by bleak houses in Piraeus; unfortunately the vast majority are being demolished by gravity.

    1. It is, sadly, a famous local landmark, notorious for its state of decay and probably no longer repairable.

  9. It reminds me of Llandudno with its Victorian buildings and promenade. It looks a good place to walk.

    1. There are lots of Victorian buildings in the town, and many road names such as Victoria, Albert, Walpole. etc.
The promenade is quite long so a good flat walk.
