My daily random ramblings
Conveyancing process initiated,
Hopefully, if nothing scuppers our plans, we may be in by Christmas.
Congrats, JayCee! Did you buy a church that has been converted into a home? Can't wait to see more! Hope all goes smoothly!
Thanks Ellen. Yes, it's a converted chapel so a little quirky. It has limited appeal to the majority of purchasers for various reasons, but I love it.
Sounds like you have hooked a unique new home JayCee. Maybe past disappointments will seem worth it when you finally move in. Looking forward to seeing more photos. Well done!
Thanks YP. I am trying hard not to feel too excited about it as I don't want to be disappointed again. If it all goes through successfully I expect I shall bore everyone with photos.
Do you and Lord Peregrine intend to become lay preachers and return the chapel to its intended purpose?
I imagine P's sermons would be rather controversial.
The Reverend Ian Paisley resurrected?
Ooooh! Very peaceful. But I hope you don't dig up any bones while doing the gardening.
The graves are still there Tasker but the headstones have been moved to a small memorial garden outside the kitchen. I hope the residents remain peaceful!
You will have to get you selves a swear box. 😊 I can't wait to see the pictures at Christmas. Can I be on the invite list to your Carol service JayCee?
Oh yes Dave. Mulled wine and mince pies. The swear box would have be an extra large one I think.
Such brilliant news!xxx
Thanks Vronni xx
Oh, that will be such a lovely home. The garden looks so serene and that beautiful stained glass. Fingers x'd it all goes through smoothly.
Fingers, toes and everything here that can be crossed is crossed!
Yeh, that's really good news. Must be a relief for you both.
Just hoping this one doesn't fall through for whatever reason now.
Garden looks lovely. I am so pleased for you.
Thank you Weaver. It needs a little tidying up but we are looking forward to seeing what comes up in the garden in the Spring.
Another one wishing you the best. And that is a peaceful looking plot of land you’ve shown us.
Thanks Cathy. I loved the garden as soon as I saw it.
A carol service at Christmas sounds essential. Wouldn't that be a great idea for meeting your new neighbours. Carols and Cocktails.
Good idea Cro. P can dress up as Santa, although he would need extra padding.
Good news indeed
All fingers crossed for you ! Can't wait to see more photos of what is obviously an unusual home. My son has just had an offer accepted on what will be their first home in Abingdon. ( He has rented in Oxford for the last 10plus years)
Oh, fingers crossed for your son too Frances. I hope his purchase sails through quickly and painlessly. How exciting to be buying your first home.
Good news! It was worth the wait by the looks of things. Can't wait to see more pictures.
I can't wait to move in!
JayCee my humans just love the idea of a home that didn't start life as a house; a converted something that still has some of the character of its original purpose, and they are completely envious and can't wait to see volumes of photos.
Be careful what you wish for....
Wishing you and P all the best on safe delivery of the home(chapel) by Christmas. Know you must be working hard to keep from getting too excited, but hope that the long wait and previous house buying disappointments are behind you.
The next couple of months are going to drag for us I am sure. We are already hunting out some goodies in the secondhand furniture shops... and wondering whether a reclaimed 2.2 metre long church pew will fit in the back of the car!
I wish you all the best. In the end things work out.
Thank you Yael. Sometimes it doesn't seem so but as you say, things do work out well eventually.
Great difficulty leaving any comment here, but fingers crossed for you.
Thanks! All good wishes added to the pot are very much appreciated.
Oh my gosh. I've gotten behind on blogreading. THis is so very exciting. Can't wait to see more pictures!
It may be a while yet. Conveyancing is taking 3 or 4 months at the moment as everyone is so busy.
I'm a patient person. :)
Although I am quite used to talking to myself, any comments on my posts are very welcome, provided they are not abusive. I do reply to them so please check back. It's good to talk (!)
