Just before I awoke this morning I had been dreaming that I was walking along the street in a strange town belting out Tom Jones' 1960s hit "Delilah" which was playing through my earphones, much to the astonishment of passers by. For some strange reason, a Sikh gentleman in a turban was cycling past also singing Delilah, but in a Brummie accent.
Now I can't seem to get that song out of my head. I don't even like it so have no idea where that came from!
Now that's a typically weird dream. As weird dreams go. A Sikh in a turban singing Delilah, which I now can't get out of my mind either. Well, Delilah can't cut off his hair because he's wearing a turban. Where was Samson. And why, why, why were you singing Delilah?
ReplyDeleteYou need a Yorkshire Pud to sort it all out
# And so ... before .. they come to break down the door ...#
DeleteThat cycling, singing Sikh was a strange element to the dream
Okay...now I'm humming the #$*& song. :)
ReplyDeleteMake it stop!!!
Delete"Delilah" is often sung by fans of Stoke City for some obscure reason. Coincidentally, my team - Hull City are playing Stoke today. Perhaps it is a sign from God though what it means I have no idea.
ReplyDeleteHmmm... prophetic? Not sure where the Brummie Sikh fits though...
DeleteI had to google Brummie as I had no idea what that meant.
ReplyDeleteIt is weird the stuff that creeps into our dreams.
Also strange how old songs do pop up in our heads when we aren't expecting it! Must be tiny memory triggers in there or something.
I have no idea what could have triggered that one. 😳
Delete"It's Not Unusual".🎤😊
ReplyDeleteJust one of those ...
DeleteFunny Familiar Forgotten Feelings...
About the strangest dream I have heard of.
ReplyDeleteI am a very strange person, Weaver.
DeleteCould have been worse. The Birdie Song, for example.
ReplyDeleteNooooo ......
DeleteOften suffer from "ear worms" when I'm trying to fall asleep, but never that one.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness too!
Delete🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
ReplyDelete🤭
DeleteTom Jones definitely had some classics, so much so they they are visitors to your dreams! Maybe you should start humming “What’s New, Pussycat?” to make “Delilah” go away!
ReplyDeleteStop it!!
DeleteWeird...
ReplyDeleteYep.
DeleteAh, the old earworm... I mean the song, not Tom Jones!
ReplyDeleteWasn't it Delilah who cut off Samson's hair? Not sure what that has to do with anything, but it will stick in my mind for ages now...
Sorry!
DeleteDon’t we dream some strange things ? ….. of course, I am now singing Delilah over and over in my head !!!!!! ….. I seem to know all of the words as well !!!! XXXX
ReplyDeleteA closet Tom Jones fan? 😁
DeleteNoooo , although he can sing and has been around for a very long time so I do appreciate his talent ! XXXX
