It doesn't bother me although I sometimes struggle to understand what people are saying to me, even with my hearing aids turned up.
Our cold and stormy snap has now turned to a mild and wet spell. I think I prefer the rain to the gale force winds. At least I can stand up when I go out!
P went for a stroll up to take a look at the new house yesterday morning while I was out with my walking partner. The vendors were in the process of moving their belongings to their new temporary rental and invited him in to chat about the final preparations for the sale completion date. It is getting so close now.
Soon we shall be able to look forwards rather than back.
Here in Wales we've had to continue wearing masks inside shops etc and I have insisted that workmen wear them whilst inside the house. Plumber here for final day today so looking forward to a bath tonight!
ReplyDeleteNot long now and your new home will be signed, sealed and delivered. I'm excited for you.
We have had things easier here for a while but now we are back to taking precautions again, which is no bad thing really.
DeleteWhat are the current occupants of the church house planning to do in the future - after the temporary rental?
ReplyDeleteThey told P yesterday that they have now found a house that they are in the process of buying so will move into the temporary rental until their purchase goes through. Given the length of time our purchase has taken, that could be several months!
DeleteKeep everything crossed.
ReplyDeleteCrossed and double crossed.
DeleteLike Tasker, fingers crossed that all goes smoothly for your move.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary.
DeleteIn Scotland we've never stopped wearing masks so it's status quo for us.
ReplyDeleteYes, it seems to have varied from one jurisdiction to another. I think having our borders closed lulled us all into a sense of security for so long.
DeleteI wish you well - and as for looking forward I'm sure things will get better in time. It is just the waiting that iI fins so hard... Good luck with your move.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I am not very patient when it comes to the waiting part!
DeleteWe have been wearing masks in public places all along. Like you, I don't mind as I would rather be safe. My daughter recently caught Covid at work and has just recovered. She was vaccinated and so she thinks it could have been even worse but she was quite sick for a good 2 weeks and still suffers from fatigue (and she is only 32!)
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for your upcoming move!
Oh, your poor daughter. I hope her recovery is swift.
DeleteThose darn masks. We only have to wear them in shops, at the moment. The novelty has worn off. All the best for the move
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda.
DeleteI wore mine out to the shops today. I do as I'm told!
I shall be thinking of you - always good when it is oveer.
ReplyDeleteThank you Weaver. I shall keep you posted.
DeleteWe wear masks in shops and on the ferry. You don't have to show your vaccine pass in them but you do in pubs and restaurants and you have to sit at a table and can't go to the bar and you have to wear your mask if you want to go to the toilet. Life seems so complicated these days,
ReplyDeleteCrikey. It's easier to just stay at home.
DeleteI have continued to wear a mask in shops and in crowds. I was amazed by how so many people seem to completely ignore Covid. You'd hardly know it existed.
ReplyDeleteWe have been spared the worst of it over here so far. I am just waiting now for my booster.
DeleteThis morning when I drove into town, I noticed many more people seemed to be wearing masks again. I haven't seen anything about new regulations, but I'm sure there will be some in the pipeline.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your move - I do hope it all goes smoothly and you are happy in your new home, and can finally solve the dilemma of the colour of the walls in the loo!
Thank you CG. Oh, if only all life's problems were as simple as the colour of the loo!
DeleteCouldn't agree more!
DeleteLooking forward to photographs of your new home …. Does that sound nosey ? I just love houses ! XXXX
ReplyDeleteI can do nosey very well Jackie xxx
