The day before our house completion.
I was told that I shall need to avoid touching or accidentally knocking the wound for a couple of weeks whilst it heals.
That should curtail my house move activities a little. I shall just have to supervise instead.
I'm sure you'll be glad when Thursday's behind you. Have you got a moving date yet? Hopefully just after Christmas rather than spending Christmas Day surveying a pile of boxes and thinking where the hell's the roasting pan?!
ReplyDeleteWe are supposed to start moving in over the weekend. I won't be much help but I can certainly tell P where to put things!
DeleteGood timing. You can sit and give advice. Doctor's orders. Won't P be happy
ReplyDeleteEcstatic!
DeleteI hope all goes well on Thursday. You can always concentrate on the move to take your mind off what's happening on your leg!
ReplyDeleteWith an early start that day I may even drop off to sleep.
DeleteGood luck. Play it for all you can get. I'm not convinced Coppa'sG got that last bit the right way round.
ReplyDeletePlaying for sympathy doesn't generally work well in our house.
DeleteHope all goes well with the op and enjoy your new Supervisor role.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dave. How are you faring with Storm Barra over there?
DeleteWe're fine thanks but there are reports of flooding and falling trees in West Cork and Kerry.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the surgery and the move!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ellen.
DeleteI have no doubt that you will indeed be able tell Peregrine where he can put things! Fingers crossed for both Thursday and Friday JayCee.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind wishes YP.
DeleteAnd yes, my instructions to his Lordship are likely to be succinct and not easily misinterpreted.
Best of luck on Thursday...and on the move this weekend. All you need now in your new home is a well-positioned soft chair with an ottoman for you to rest your leg and a pointer stick so that you may direct P on the placement of everything else. A little baton. Won't he be thrilled? :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea.
DeleteI am looking forward to this now 😀
It is your opportunity to try your talents at supervisor.
ReplyDeleteSupervising...
ReplyDeleteI wasn't much good at that in my working life... perhaps I'll be better at it now that I am retired!
DeleteBest wishes for the surgery and do take it easy and let him do things his way.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I shall try.
DeleteAlthough supervising might not come naturally, I hope you'll let it come easily. As I told my wife when we moved into our house 20-plus years ago, you have the rest of your life to unpack. (Good luck, by the way).
ReplyDeleteThanks Bob. I can't see me taking 20 years to unpack!
DeleteI hope that all goes well tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThank you Graham. This time tomorrow it will be over with.
DeleteI came here to wish you well tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThank you Debby. Just about to leave for the hospital and found your message. It made me feel better!
DeleteAs long as the boxes are put in the new house and the movers, if you have employed a removal company, they can do the assembly of the bed and furniture. Unpacking in the main can wait. A light bit of work will keep the circulation going. Have a good move.
ReplyDeleteP is going to move all the smaller items himself and a friend has offered to help out. He is going to use a local "man and a van" Service for the large items. I won't be able to help for the next couple of weeks unfortunately. Doctor's orders.
DeleteO crikey. These things always come at the wrong time.
ReplyDeleteWe like a challenge ...(sometimes).
