We have been given a plant which a friend dug up from their recently deceased parent's garden. He had no use for it and was going to pave the garden before putting the house on the market.
He has no idea what it is, nor do we, but I thought it would look good in a blank space in the garden.
It was doing quite well until I noticed this morning that half of it appears to have been eaten, and a couple of the blooms were lying beside what was left of the foliage.
We think the culprit was probably the big, fat bunny that visits our garden most evenings.
Hope he gets indigestion.
I had my six month review this morning at the Plastic Surgery Clinic to check that my scar had healed OK and for a skin check. I had not realised that the skin check was a full body check and would require me to strip down to my flimsies.
Thank goodness they were clean on this morning!
Anyway, all clear so no further excavations required.
Flimsies is a rather nice word but I wouldn't call my own underwear flimsies - more like sturdies - sturdy being the opposite of flimsy. By the way, if you put out rabbit food, the rabbits are far less likely to munch on your flimsy plants.
ReplyDeleteMy flimsies have become quite sturdy these days too.
DeleteI think my plants are probably classed as rabbit food now.
Brings to mind my mother saying "always wear clean underwear" because "what would people think if you were knocked down by a car".
ReplyDeleteBut I'd probably wet my pants!
DeleteGlad you had good news from the doctor's office, JayCee, what a relief!! When I see the bunnies nibbling in my garden, I always say, "Eat the weeds - save me the work of pulling them!" Wish they would.... :)
ReplyDeleteHa, ha, yes... why do they eat the pretty stuff instead of the weeds!
DeleteI have knowingly eaten rabbit. Just saying.
ReplyDeleteMe too, and very tasty it was.
DeleteI hear that the fat ones are esp. tasty.
DeleteDepends what they have been eating!
DeleteWe once had a rabbit. My daughter named her Echo; based on her personality (and constant low growl), I renamed her Selma Bouvier, haha.
ReplyDeleteI had to Google Selma Bouvier!
DeleteGlad you got the all clear from the doctor.
ReplyDeleteThanks Marjorie. So glad I don't need any more bits of me removed.
DeleteWe have Hares here, but just a couple of days ago I also saw a Rabbit; the first I've seen for decades. They do make very good eating!!!
ReplyDeleteJust have to catch the little blighters.
DeleteThe joys of country living. Glad you are fit and well JayCee.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dave x
DeleteBad news on the bunnies. Superb news on the skin. Mary
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary.
DeleteLooks like Asters
ReplyDeleteAh, thank you!
DeleteSo glad to read that you've had a good report from the hospital.
ReplyDeleteThanks CG, it is a relief.
DeleteHurrah for the good news! Shame about the plant but maybe you made a bunny a 'very happy bunny'!!
ReplyDeletexxx
