All Hail!

It was quite fresh out there this morning so I wore my big, padded coat on my walk into town for the Friday charity shop shift. (Try saying that without your teeth in).

As I strolled along the South Shore Promenade I noticed a rainbow and stopped to capture a few shots with my phone camera.

After a minute or so my fingers started to feel numb with cold and then that dark cloud you can see there suddenly emptied itself of a shower of tiny hailstones. It felt like hundreds of little needles pricking my face.

Very bracing.

Yesterday Elfie posted all his Christmas cards.  I think he's a bit late this year. I hope they all arrive in time.

  1. Do you buy stuff when you are working in the charity shop? I would be tempted to if I saw something special come into the shop. Does the shop do good business? We have a nice couple of resale shops in my city that are always busy these days.
Thanks for the rainbow and the smiles, JayCee!

    1. Our shop is very popular and is usually very busy. Today was no exception with lots of customers queueing up at the till. I was exhausted when I got home.
Yes, I have been known to come home with a bargain or two!

  2. Elfie needs to be careful climbing to post his Christmas cards or else the Elf and Safety people will give him a good telling off. We drove through a 🌈 once and I recently saw two next to each other. We didn't find any Leprechauns with pots of gold.

    1. A pot of gold would come in very handy right now, Dave.

  3. I bet that Elfie sends most of his cards to fairies who have tickled his fancy. The beach photo is great but it needs straightening up - sorry to be so blunt!

    1. With all the strikes over there we'll be lucky if they arrive for next Christmas.

  5. I'm picturing you walking along holding Elfie's hand with people pretending it's normal and what everyone does.

  6. Funny Elfie cartoon in my Facebook feed today - the Grinch holding Elfie upside down over the toilet bowl!

  7. I hope Manx Mail is more efficient than our lot. Ours are all supposed to be on strike for the next two years.

    1. It is quite depressing, all these strikes and no money in the coffers to pay anyone.

  8. You have to give Elfie top marks for perseverance - it must have been quite a struggle to climb up to reach the post box, with arms full of cards.
Had trouble saying the Charity shop etc., with my teeth in - and stone cold sober!
