The Sea, The Sea

Bank Holiday Monday. A fine, bright, sunny but chilly morning.  Just right for a walk along the seafront.

The hills of Cumbria were clearly visible on the horizon so I took a short clip on my 'phone, which hopefully includes the sound just for Frances who asked so nicely!

  1. That is a very gentle looking sea today. No toe in the water then?

    1. Not unless I want frostbite. The sea is not quite so gentle today. More strong winds and heavy rain are imminent.

  2. We drove in a hire car from Newcastle to Blackpool through Cumbria on the M6, stopping off in Carlisle. It was lovely scenic drive and how can sheep stand on such steep hills and not tumble down them. In the distance I saw my first land based wind tower. Just one and it looked quite surreal. Cheeky perhaps and up to you but I wouldn't mind knowing roughly what part of Cumbria you live.

    1. Cumbria is a beautiful area, my favourite place in England.
I, unfortunately, don't live there but on the north east coast of the Isle of Man, in the middle of the Irish Sea. We can see the hills of Cumbria from the seafront at the end of our road, and we used to be able to see Ireland's Mountains of Mourne from our previous house on the west coast of the island.

    1. Ah, sadly not. Nothing quite so intellectual from me, Rachel.

  9. I can hear (and see) the sea from our house. Recently it's been very vocal, so I haven't bothered to go down.

  10. Lovely video, how calm the sea looks - almost tempting for a paddle!
On a recent walk beside one of the beaches, the sea was surprisingly rough for the Med., and I stopped to watch the waves rolling in and breaking over the rocks - it was exhilarating!
